After our first couple of ventures out onto the streets of Melbourne it is great to see people loving Po’Boys as much as we do. When we were spending time in NOLA one of our missions was to learn as much as we could about the Po’Boy and were lucky enough to have a few chefs share some of the secrets with us. This went hand in hand with our other mission… to eat as many amazing Po’Boys as humanly possibly.
The deep fried shrimp is proving to be really popular with Melbournians, and how could it not be? Deep fried, lightly spiced and battered shrimp, crispy lettuce, tomato, pickles, Cajun spiced remoulade and Crystal hot sauce all packed into a fluffy bread roll – It hits the spot every time.
Not a fan of seafood? Well Elvin’s amazing beef debris Po’Boys are equally amzing, full of the usual dressings with beef in a delicious gravy… YUM! We also have a few vegetarian options on the go, which are also keeping the crowds happy, once again offsetting that crunch of the contents with the soft insides of the bread roll.
So the only questions left are when are you going to come find us to get a Po’Boy? and will you have it dressed or undressed? *
* The Po’Boy that is, please wear clothes. A dressed Po’Boy comes with lettuce, tomato, pickle and sauces, undressed is just the meat (or veg as the case may be)
Melbourne’s latest gourment food truck is nearly ready to hit the streets. After months of menu testing and truck building, we are days away from rolling it out the drive.
